Hello to our wonderful community!

We’re so excited to see more of you joining our campaign! Thank you all so much for your pledges and for sharing the project with others—it truly means the world to us. We’re beyond humbled and grateful for all of your support.

We had a fun idea we wanted to share! Our Art Director and co-founder, Delphine Malidore, illustrates every single card in every deck we’ve ever made. She has a very hands-on approach, waiting until each card is absolutely perfect before moving forward. This year, in addition to directing this deck, she’s also been working on our Masters decks, which will be released next year. Instead of rushing her to finish everything before the campaign ends, we told her she didn’t have to rush and could take the time she needed. That’s when she came up with the brilliant idea to let you—our amazing backers—help guide her creative process!

Del goes all out with her cards, starting with her reference photos. She often gets her family and friends involved, having them pose in front of a green screen she sets up in her apartment. She gets super creative, using everything from costumes to elaborate props. For example, her husband (and our assistant Art Director), Chris Malidore, posed for the "fishman" character we envisioned for the Emperor card. She takes hundreds of shots and then narrows it down to just a few, which she and Trish review to pick the best ones for the final look and feel of the card.

Chris took this job quote seriously and gave Del hundreds of fish faces to choose from.

After she chose the ones she liked, she used several to create a collage to use as a reference photo. And somehow all that....
